Small Changes, Big Impact with MightyNest

** This blog post is in partnership with MightyNest. Thank you to the brands who support The Healthy Haff, allow for me to authentically share my experience, and are creating products and services that I fully believe in. All opinions in this post are my own.

I’m a firm believer that small changes make the biggest differences. It is rare that I will ever do a full “overhaul” on anything in my life. When I am inspired to make a change, I start slowly, try to add it onto another already established habit, make it easy, and sustainable. The word “sustainable” has a two-pronged meaning in this context. The first is meaning that the process is approachable enough that I will continue to be able to prioritize the habit. The second, is that it is better for the environment and reduces my impact.

One of my biggest goals for 2021 is to become more sustainable in my habits and overall lifestyle. As I said before, I do not enjoy doing full-blown overhauls to my lifestyle as I find that it creates an un-sustainable outlook on the process of making a change. I’m not perfect with my journey to be more sustainable and I’ll never claim to be. However, I know that as one person, I have the power to make a large impact through small changes that I implement consistently. It’s not about one person doing everything to be sustainable, it’s about all of us doing lots of small things imperfectly to better care for our planet.

I’m so excited to share that I’ve partnered with MightyNest to share more about their amazing program, MightyFix. This subscription program focuses on  one sustainable swap per month that shows up right to your door. I absolutely love this idea because of the convenience, simplicity, and the larger impact that it makes. MightyNest takes the hard work out of researching sustainable swaps and partners with companies that are pioneers in sustainability to provide you with the absolute best of the best.

If sustainability sounds daunting to you, MightyFix would be a GREAT place to start. With each “Fix” they send, they also include an informational card (printed on post-consumer waste paper) with tips, tricks, and how to best use your new item and seamlessly incorporate it into your routine. On the flip side, if you’re a bit further into your sustainability journey and are looking to continue to make small changes each month, the MightyFix is completely customizable and you can let the MightyNest team know what sustainable products you already own (that way you’re not adding additional unnecessary items), and can even make sure all shipments only include vegan items. So if you’re thinking this all sounded good but you already own a lot of sustainable swaps or are looking for a specific kind of products, MightyNest has your back!

For me, food is the place where I used to create the most waste. Not from the actual food itself, but from grocery shopping and the residual waste that comes in the form of plastic grocery bags, disposable single use storage bags, and improper food storage. One of the first sustainable swaps I made about four years ago was investing in Stasher Bags to use for food storage and since then, I have not purchased any disposable bags. It’s a win-win - good for the environment and good for my wallet. I use Stasher Bags on a daily basis to freeze fruits and vegetables, store the other half of my avocado, pack a lunch, and steam sweet potatoes. Truly, these are a staple in my home. That’s why Stasher Bags are my pick for your first month of the MightyFix subscription! MightyNest was so kind to give my community a special offer to try out the MightyFix subscription for only $3 for your first month of the subscription to receive a Stasher Bag and then continue on for $11 a month for your next month of a new sustainable swap. To give you an idea of what your MightyFix subscription will look like following the first month, a couple of the other items I received are Produce Bags and Bee’s Wax Wrap. Both of which I have used for years and have replaced other less sustainable options in my kitchen.

Many of the items that are a part of the MightyFix subscription program I have been using for a long time and were the catalyst for other sustainable changes in my life. So, if you’ve been interested in trying out more sustainable products in your life but simply don’t know where to begin (trust me, I know it’s intimidating), this is such a great place to start. It’s not about doing everything perfectly, it’s about finding ways that feel sustainable to you and making small changes. If someone you know has been looking to make more sustainable swaps, you can also give the gift of a Mighty Fix subscription or gift it to yourself! I am so excited to hear how you like the different sustainable and green swaps that you get with your Mighty Fix subscription and love that we all are making a difference, one fix at a time.
