Cast Iron Skillet Pizza

One of the best things I’ve made as of lately is this Cast Iron Skillet Pizza! I really desperately wanted pizza and with most things still being closed here and my love for getting creative in the kitchen, this recipe was born! Feel free to adjust any of the ingredients or make your own pizza dough (I want to give it a go as soon as I can find yeast locally) but I find that it’s delicious with pre-made pizza dough from the store and anything you have for veggies to go on top! Such a quick and perfect dinner idea - I always make this for one so be sure to make as much as you need for however many people you are feeding!

Cast Iron Skillet Pizza

1/4 package of homemade pizza dough

2 tbsp olive oil

Pesto, Marinara Sauce, Garlic

Any additional toppings as desired

Directions

Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Begin to expand pizza dough by rolling it out with a rolling pin. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat and then place the flattened pizza dough onto it. Press down on the dough to expand to fit into the skillet. Before placing the toppings and sauce on, allow the crust to get crispy on the bottom - this usually takes about 3-5 minutes. Once crust is crisp, add sauce and any toppings to the dough. Pop into the oven for around 10 minutes or until remainder of crust is golden brown. Allow to cool, slice, and enjoy!
